How To Learn Chinese
May 5, 2009 | Leave a Comment
Most experts would agree hands down that the single best way to learn a foreign language is by using an immersion program. This is the scenario where you go to a foreign country and everything that you experience is done in the language you wish to learn with very few instances of communication in your native tongue. When put into this type of situation you are forced pretty quickly to learn the basics and learn them well. After a month or two of this coupled with more formal instruction you will in most cases be able to communicate in the language you have chosen pretty comfortably and fluently.
So what does this have to do with how to learn Chinese? Since most of us can’t afford the time or the expense to go to a foreign land to learn another language then the next best thing is to find a way to recreate the immersion scenario where we are. To do this properly you need a way to
1) Learn the basics of the language and get feedback on your progress
2) Speak the language correctly and get feedback on your progress
3) Interact in different scenarios using the language and get feedback on your progress
There are a number of foreign software products on the market today that can do some of these but very few of them can do all of them. Go to our main site and spend some time reading about Rocket Chinese. You will be glad that you did.
